With the Avalanche (and since the Tahoe is about the same I'd assume this would be the same)
- If you have the Z71 the brakes don't NEED to be upgraded (although I'll probably beef the brakes up at least a little since the Ave has soft brakes straight from the factory)
- With 305 45 22 tires you are only increasing the overall wheel diamter about 8% over stock Z71 wheel diameter which shouldn't translate to too much of a loss of acceleration....then again, with the big wheels, you WANT to go slow so everyone can see 'em! [img]cool.gif[/img]
- You have a point with the suspension components, unless you upgrade those as well, which I won't be doing. I figure I'll keep the truck 4 years max before I want something new so the suspension won't give out while I own the thing
- Believe it or not, ride quality on 22's is not that much different then stock. I had 22's on my last Avalanche for a short time and I didn't notice much of a difference in ride at all when I got the new stock Ave

i dunno Mac...ive ridden in quite a few 22'd trucks. my bosses Escalade with 20's (over the factory 18's) lost alot of acceleration.
i suppose upgraded brakes arent necessary, but IMO all chevy brakes are soft...and the larger heavier wheels certainly eat brakes alot faster. ive also heard guys having nightmares with ABS systems with the larger wheels.
like i said, i like the look. in reality id rather attract less attention tho...
